Children's Ministry

@ Sandy Plains

Welcome! Our goal is to help our children become true followers of Jesus Christ by: building relationships with them, being examples for them and teaching them from the Bible.

kids love it here @...

1.) Children's Church Worship Service. Children join together to praise the Lord at 10:30 am, Sundays. Kids' check is inside our Education building on the 1st Floor for Preschool and 2nd Floor for Grade school kids.  Feel free to park close to the middle of campus building as well.

2.) Children's Small Groups.  These age graded classes meet in the Education building Sundays 9:30 am. This is also in the middle of our campus Education Building. Check in is at the classroom, 1st Floor for Preschool and 2nd Floor for Grade school kids.

3.) Awana.  This exciting Kids program is Sundays 5:30-7:00 pm inside the Family Life Center. For more info, to sign up, contact Andrew Austin our Student & Family Pastor at

4.) Vacation Bible School. In 2019, we had a great VBS July 21-25th. In 2020, VBS will be in July again.  See you then!

5.) Summer Kid's Camp @ Gardner Webb University. This camp in June is a great experience. Call the church office for more info.

6.) Upward Sports.  Upward Basketball and Cheerleading registration starts in October, and kicks off in December. The game and practice times vary, so do contact us at 704.864.4226 for more info, or email Andrew Austin our Student & Family Life Pastor

7.) Kid's Christmas Musical.  From Sept-Dec each year, we have a Kid's Ministry event on Wednesdays during services, 6:45 pm start, where kids can learn Christmas songs and prepare for a program in mid-December. Feel free to bring your kids too!

Where do we go to check in on sundays for kids?

Children's ministry check in at 9:30 or 10:30 am is at the door of each classroom. 1st Floor is Preschool check in. 2nd Floor is Grade school check in. Children are registered there and arriving a bit early to register is always good.

what else/ any extra info?

As a ministry, our mission is to offer hope without compromise to kids and their families.

As a parent or grandparent do know each Kids and Security Team volunteer has an active, ongoing background check. This plus training sessions and multiple eyes in any space do ensure safety.  We have plainclothes security on campus who are trained in an ongoing way by professionals. We also watch access points for safety each week via Kids Team, Security Team, Greeters & Staff Team.

Also, for any child allergies, do inform us upon arrival at check in, and we will be active in helping ensure all is as needed for a child.

We look forward to you all being our guests @ Sandy Plains! This is a church home for you.
