Missions through Sandy Plains

what are Missions opportunities?

As we grow in our faith, we realize that we are on mission for Jesus. The disciples heard this from Jesus, in Acts 1:8, and followed a three-fold missions focus:

Jerusalem - meaning a local or nearby regional area.

Judea and Samaria - meaning the larger regional area.

To the ends of the earth - meaning international missions.

Sandy Plains has many local, regional, international missions partners. We are grateful for those connections.

Locally, we partner with several area Shelters, local Relief orgs, prepare gifts for First Responders, operate and support several Food Pantries, partner for local Street Ministry and the Salvation Army and more. Any Sunday see a Small Group leader, a Staff Member, or Pastor for more info to connect with those. Info is also listed in upcoming events in the Bulletin Sundays. We also support local missions agencies as opportunity arises.

Regionally, we partner with a Shelby Mission project, and Mountain Missions, so to bring resources to those areas. We also have occasionally prison ministries and regional service days. We are also active in support of our missions of the Baptist State Convention of NC which is a missions group, by regular giving. There are disaster relief efforts available as well as time arises. www.ncbaptist.org Regional missions happen several times annually. During the trips, there is much planning, prayer, and preparation.

Internationally, we partner with others. We won't list them all online. We do support areas and people groups for Jesus also by prayer and financially for International Missions plans and efforts. Much of our international missions financial giving goes through the IMB. There are other mission groups as well. Members of our church may do missions short-term, two year opportunities, or long-term by this partnership with the IMB. www.imb.org

As you connect and join with us for worship services as a church, we're happy to have you join us on mission.  See you soon!
